About Us
Our work is led by a small, core team, supported by a diverse and experienced Board.
Robin Millar, CEO
A former Member of the UK Parliament and graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies, Robin has worked around the world on engineering structures, institutions and organisations.

His Christian faith has influenced his life and 25 years as an elected politician. Alongside his role at Trinity Forum Europe, he is starting a part-time PhD and writing a book on the intersection of faith and politics.
In his spare time he likes to read and run trails and says he is "married to the most patient person I know."

Kenneth Mackenzie, Chairman
Kenneth has been involved in the Forum for more than 30 years, since its early days in the US.
Taking the role of Chairman in 2025, Kenneth brings 50 years of business leadership experience to our Board. He is a chartered accountant, the CEO of Target Fund Managers, a father of five and grandfather of "nineteen at the last count".
Patrick Brown, Director of Ministry Operations
With a passion for the engagement of faith and public life, Patrick holds degrees in Biblical Studies, Christian Apologetics, and Science and Religion (and is prone to quoting Kierkegaard).
Patrick established the first Scriptorium in Scotland and now oversees the work of our Scriptoriums across Scotland, the north of England and Northern Ireland.

Our Story
The story of Trinity Forum Europe is told in the lives and work of those who have held the vision of challenging minds, changing lives and shaping society with Christian truths.
Al McDonald, Founder
In 1993, in the heart of the British countryside, the seed of a bold new venture was sown - Trinity Forum Europe - driven by the vision of a man who had seen the world from the top and was concerned by what he saw.

Alonzo McDonald began his journey in Depression-era Georgia, ending up in the heights of global business, politics, and academia. This gave him a unique perspective on an enduring problem.
A marine corps veteran, McKinsey’s Global Managing Partner, a senior White House official under President Jimmy Carter and a Harvard Business School faculty member, McDonald had climbed the ladders of power. But what he saw from the top left him restless: a leadership class often adrift, lacking moral and spiritual grounding.

A quarter of a century later Trinity Forum Europe is still challenging minds, changing lives and shaping society with Christian truth.

Rev Jonathan Aitken, former Director
The Rev Jonathan Aitken was once a leading figure in British public life: an Eton and Oxford educated author, Conservative MP, Cabinet Minister and confidante to power.
In the 1990s and at the height of his career, he had a dramatic fall from favour - from Westminster to prison. There he discovered his need for the grace of God and found his ministry in serving others.
His story is a powerful one of redemption and it informed nearly two decades that followed as Director of Trinity Forum Europe until 2025.

Jonathan continues as an advisor to the current team as they continue to build today.
