Studying systematic theology and with an interest in the writings of Abraham Kupyer, Ragaai brings personal experience of the intersection of faith, state and politics in Cairo, Egypt - as a witness to the Arab Spring of early 2011.

Rachel Lillycrop

Before her current Theology PhD research on risk and decision-making, Rachel did lots of things with numbers: working around the world in the oil industry, financial services and teaching maths. She likes to run, play the card game bridge, and lives up to her nickname, the 'Silky Shuffler'.

Andrew Sherrod

'Hinge' commitments, their application to religious disagreement and the ethics of AI are the focus of Andrew's study. He holds degrees in philosophy and theology from Glasgow (MSc) and Wheaton College (MA). He also works at finding time to visit National Trust sites in Scotland with his family.

Matti Veldhuis

An MPhil student in Islamic Studies and History, Matti organises the Pusey House Scriptorium in Oxford. She has a particular interest in medieval Persian and her commitment to learning recently took her to Armenia, where she spent time "immersed" with Yezidi shepherds.

Peter Elliott

Before his PhD studies in music, Peter studied in Oxford and King's College London - and taught guitar in Northern Ireland. He is a church warden at St Edwards, composes music - and makes a good cup of coffee!

Victoria Costa

A PhD student in music theology, Victoria researches how music can align with the spirituality of liturgical seasons. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her experimenting in the kitchen and playing the mandolin - not necessarily at the same time!

John Nolan

A PhD student in Patristics, John researches 2nd century theology of the crucifixion and early ideas of the cross as the core of the cosmos. Describing himself as "a bad singer and not especially funny" John makes music, listens to comedy podcasts and "reads a lot to make up for it."

Sally Song

After fourteen years working with children in Beijing, Sally pursued a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Langages (TESOL). She is now a PhD student in Education Studies. When she is not studying, enjoys listening to worship songs while she cooks!

Sophie Jones

Sophie followed her degree in music from Durham with a Master’s at the University of Cambridge. She is now working on a PhD at Union Theological College, Belfast on musical imagery in the writings of CS Lewis. A saxophonist, violinist, and singer she has a heart for building Christian community and loves "planning creative events"
